One-day conference on October 17, 2009 - Finding Out More About Neurofibromatosis

Dear Sir or Madam:

The Association de la Neurofibromatose du Québec (ANFQ), in collaboration with a community organizer from the CSSS Antoine-Labelle (Antoine-Labelle health and social services centre), invites you to a one-day conference entitled Finding Out More About Neurofibromatosis, on October 17, 2009. The invitation goes out to everyone, including professionals and the entire population. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness about this disorder among our members, their friends and families, health and education professionals, and the general population, while promoting the Association.

You will have the opportunity to meet with a doctor specialized in genetics and a medical anthropologist familiar with neurofibromatosis, a doctoral student and a specialized resource teacher. The presentations are free. Lunch will be served, for those who wish ($20 for members and $25 for non-members), during which you will be able to converse with the speakers.

Afterwards, we would like to form a mutual support group to help people break their isolation and create ties. You will be given some time to express yourself on the subject, tell us about your needs and give us your suggestions. We would like to ensure the continuity of this endeavour together.
